How to roast makhana?

Step 1: You will need makhana (fox nuts), ghee, and seasonings like salt, pepper, or spices.
Step 2: Take a pan or kadai, add a tablespoon or two of ghee to it, and let it melt over low to medium heat.
Step 3: Once the ghee is melted, add the makhana to the pan. Stir them continuously to coat them evenly with ghee.
Step 4: Roast them until they start to puff up and become crispy. This process may take around 5–10 minutes.
Step 5: Once roasted, sprinkle some salt or chaat masala. You can also add pepper or spices. Mix well to coat evenly.
Step 6: Remove the roasted makhana from the pan and let them cool before storing them in an airtight container.

To roast makhana in the microwave, take some makhanas, add ghee, mix them well, and put them in a microwave-safe bowl. Now microwave it for 30 seconds to heat it up. Stir them thoroughly once more after 30 seconds and leave them in for an additional 30 seconds. Continue doing this until the makhanas get crispy, roasted, and light brown.
